How To Use Twitterfeed For Newbies
Apr 23, 2011 -
I've planned to use twitterfeed. :-) I think it's a very novel concept. I know it's been there for ages. But I only had the time to use it today. And boy I'm so hooked. :-D
What the hell is twitterfeed? Twitterfeed is the best way to automate your tweets even if your in the Bahamas or in the moon. After this tutorial, you will be able to use twitterfeed to connect your blogs to twitter, even to Facebook.
Now, with twitterfeed, you can automatically tweet your favorite blogs like Engadget or Mashable or anything you wanna share on twitter consistently. And automatically! Now how cool is that? What's even greater is you can automatically feed your blog or blogs to twitterfeed on autopilot. No need to manually share your post on twitter everytime you have a new post. With twitterfeed, everytime you post into your blog, it is AUTOMATICALLY shared on your twitter account even WITHOUT you logging into twitter. See the power behind it? Now, for the newbies out there, like me, what you need are the following to set up your twitterfeed account.
1) your email or gmail
2) your feed address
Now, you may ask, what is a feed address (if you've been living under a rock like my classmates.) Just kidding. If you still don't know what a feed is, you might want to check out my blog post about it first.
Back to twitterfeed. This awesome tool, as I said, will enable you to automatically publish in your Facebook and Twitter accounts those blogs that interest you or your own blog posts, just about anything you want to share your fans and friends.
How do you do this step by step?
The first thing is signing up into Twitterfeed.com , once there, click on "Register Now" and you just have to put your email and password. Then it asks you to put the feed name (blog name e.g. Porkin's Blog or if you want to optimize the title, use the topic of your blog) and then enter also the URL of the RSS feed.
Next, click on "Advanced Settings" (underneath) and change the fields "Post Content" and check the "title only" and "Post Sorting" check "GUID", so it should look like this:
Now, click on "Continue to Step 2" and from there you can link your Twitter and Facebook accounts.
We started with Twitter, so click on it and we will see a blue button which will take us to Twitter for OAuth authentication.
Finally, you must click on the "Create service" that is at the bottom of the page to confirm. Now for Facebook, for the post is published on your wall, the process is the same, you just have to click where it says Facebook, and you'll see a button that you click to authenticate yourself in Faceboook.
Once set up, please don't forget to click on the "All done", which is in the lower left corner of the screen to confirm the whole process.
